Catch Up read-a-thon and Giveaway

There's some changes going on over here at The Literati Press. The biggest one is that I've decided to take a break from accepting personal review requests for a little while. I thought that narrowing my focus on what I read  would help me to say no, but in truth it hasn't help a whole lot. I want to go back to my original intentions; to create awareness for diversity in reading. I want to highlight books that readers may not take notice of because they read only YA, only Adult, only romance, only science-fiction, etc... I want to start conversations about issues that are relevant to readers everywhere: diversity in reading, banned books, etc... I want to get to the books that I said I would "read one day".  I have a lot to do, so most of these changes won't actually start taking place until January 2013. But to prepare for that, I will be doing some serious catching up with some read-a-thons that I have scheduled. I actually started one last night, (I'll get to that in a minute), but since I will be starting classes in a month, they will be short read-a-thons, so if you feel  the need to join in please do, or pass the word around.
Sorry I don't have neat links or buttons for everyone, so will join the old-fashion way by leaving comments or blog links in the comment section!

The Catch Up Read-a-thon kick-off: September 20 midnight -September 27 midnight.
This will probably be the longest read-a-thon that I have, simply because I have next week free (unless subbing opportunities open up)
What better way to start than with a bang?
You can do progress updates on your blog or in the comment section. Or you can just do a wrap-up post at the end of the read-a-thon.

Yes, you can jump in and out at anytime. Do as much or as little as you like!!

Prizes?
Will there be prizes? Sure why not! For anyone who participates I will be doing a rafflecopter giveaway for one of the few books I've marked as 2012 favorite.  So if you want to participate, just leave an "I'm in!!" comment below. (Wrap-up posts and I'm in comments are required for the prize!)

My 2012 favorites: (Click link to read my review)
Tap Out by Eric Devine

Starring Me by Krista McGee

The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne
(only one of theses titles)

I know that I can't be the only person that needs to catch up on some reading. Who else wants to join this read-a-thon?

Always Shine,
Starr K
