From the Editor's Desk 1-13-13

Books Received
In an attempt to be more consistent and not do so many posts, I am combining my reading pile post with my books received post (this is known by many names, and is self-explanatory).

Guess what? Books-A-Million was still having their sale of buy 2 get 1 free on bargain books. So of course that meant I had to go back for more! So this is what I got:

The Poison Eaters and Other Stories by Holly Black
Blood Colony by Tananarive Due (If you have not read any of her work, I recommend it. If you're a fan of Zombies you could start with Devil's Wake)
Consent to Kill by Vince Flynn
Transfer of Power by Vince Flynn

The Forever War by Joe Haldeman

From Arcycling: ( a program where you can recycle any Arcs you may have already read but do not wish to keep.  For information, click here.)
Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland

Because this book was calling my name, I had to order it. (I am using all kinds of restraint and holding off on reading it until I finish up a few more series, you should be proud!)
 Zom-B by Darren Shan
Yes, I have wanted to read some Shan for a very a long time. Every time I pass one of his books I put it off because I really really need to finish some series that I've already started. But I had to get this one, just had to.

What I am Currently Reading:

Now that I have shared what goodies I got this week, let's talk about what I plan on actually reading.  I finished reading The Cadet of Tildor for the blog tour. (Yes, it was awesome. Yes, you should check it out. Yes, it's a series so there will be more.) I also finished up Daughter of the Sword. I really liked this book, towards the end I started getting impatient because I have so many pretties! It took me longer than I wanted. It's kind of slower paced (or maybe I was distracted?) But still I really liked it and would definitely recommend it and I'm looking forward to book 2. Yes I know that sentence is wrong and has horrible mistakes in it. No, I'm not fixing it. Right now I am finishing up Trapped. I have little over 25% left. I love Atticus and Oberon!!!! I am so glad that there are more books coming.  I will be focusing on Redemption after Trapped. (I've started it and I'm enjoying it so far!) Since classes officially start tomorrow I will be focusing on one book at a time. Ok, the truth is it doesn't matter how many books I start, I always end up focusing on one and then moving on to another.

What I will be reading:
I figured that I would be the good blog host and focus on the upcoming tours that I have and other obligations, since everything is pretty much due at or around the 15th of February. Which I am totally okay with since I have a whole slew of books that need to be read for these events.  So when I finish Redemption (Penton Legacy #1) I will be moving on to Absolution (book 2).

What I wish I was reading right now:
This week I don't have wishful reads to add. It's not because there's not any that I wish I could pluck off my shelf and read right now. I wish I could do that with all of them. But back in October, when I started thinking of the changes I wanted to make to the blog, one that I hadn't really figured out was a reading system. Well that's what I did this weekend. I figured out a system that would work for me and my spilling-over-mountain-of-books. So by the time I finish reading for the book tours I will have chopped up the mountains easily climbable hills. Will I stick with it? Probably, it circles around and offers variety and pacing where before it was just a whole slew of books, where I was only able to see the recently acquired one.  So, in short, I reading exactly what I want to read right now. My dear friends, that's awesome!

I will only mention a few of the ones I'm most excited for:
Yes, I am excited for all of them!!!!

Well, that's all from my desk! Leave a link or mention in the comments what you're reading this week!!

Starr
